You are wearing the wrong size bra if you answer "Yes" to any of these questions:
- Does your bra band ride up in back more than ½”?
- Do your straps fall off your shoulders?
- Do you experience painful or distracting bounce?
- Do your under wires dig, rub, and poke?
- Does your bra band rub and irritate your skin?
- Do your breasts hang low…with a bra on?
- Do you have grooves in your shoulders?
- Do you have chronic neck, shoulder and back pain?
- Do you wear more than one sports bra to achieve more support?
Why Are You Wearing the Wrong Size Bra?
It’s not your fault. The bra industry has let you down in three important areas:
- They do not offer the broad size range needed to accommodate most female sizing possibilities
- They do not have the quality engineering in their design to adequately support breasts of all sizes
- They do not provide information on how to find your proper fit
80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. Most are wearing their bands too big. They are trying to find a cup size to provide adequate coverage. The bra companies haven’t given you any choice. If you need a 34DDD but you can’t find one you may settle for a 36DD (or worse) just to get some sort of coverage. You are forced to sacrifice good support for your breast tissue and settle for your breasts hanging lower than you find desirable or comfortable.
How Can You Find Your Proper Size?
It’s easy! You will need to perform two tasks:
1. Take Your Rib Cage Measurement -
- Use a flexible measuring tape
- Measure around the rib cage (under the breasts)
- Elbows should be down close to sides (not out or up)
- Relax and breathe normally
- Take a snug measurement
- Repeat a few times for consistency

Rib Cage Measurement Recommended Band Size
25” to 28 1/2” 30
28 3/4" to 32” 32
32 1/4" to 34” 34
34 1/4" to 36 36
36 1/4" to 38 1/2" 38
38 3/4" to 42 40
2. Assess the Cups of Your Best Fitting Regular Bra –
- Put on your best fitting regular bra (not a sports bra)
- Stand in front of a mirror
- Position the band where it is even all the way around (not riding up in back)
- Pinch the back of the band and hold it really snug around your rib cage
- Use your free hand to lift one of the cups by the strap (in front)
- Look in the mirror
What Do You See?
- Is there breast tissue oozing out of the top, bottom or sides of the cup?
- Is breast tissue forcing the bottom of the cup away from the rib cage?

Good Fit = There is no measurable breast tissue overflowing the top, sides or
bottom of the cup.
Your current cup size is correct.
Overfill 1 = There is approximately 1/2" to 1” of breast tissue overflowing from the top,
sides and/or bottom of the cup.
Your current cup size is one size too small.
Overfill 2 = There is approximately 1 1/2" to 2” of breast tissue overflowing from the top,
sides and/or bottom of the cup.
Your current cup size is two sizes too small.
